Sir David Attenborough and the Queen team up to film documentary

The Queen shows Sir David Attenborough around the Palace garden for ITV show

The conversation was filmed past year for a documentary due to be broadcast in Britain next week.

This is an ambitious project to persuade the 53 Commonwealth nations to each create an area of protected forest to mark the monarch's extraordinary reign and her legacy as head of the organisation of mainly former British Empire countries.

The Queen walks David Attenborough around the gardens of Buckingham Palace where she talks about her involvement with The Queen's Commonwealth Canopy project in the documentary.

She says, "For us to come here and say to the children, 'This is why it's important to plant a tree, ' that's the biggest message I can teach my kids, and it's something that they've certainly learned from Her Majesty and her message".

"Sounds like President Trump. or President Obama".

"This conversation of going around and looking at the garden was a great, great privilege, which I enjoyed very much", Attenborough said.

Englands's 91 year-old Queen Elizabeth has a secret passion for trees, according to a new TV documentary that will be aired on 16 April.

The two nonagenarians appear relaxed together, with little of the formality and rigid deference often seen in people addressing the monarch.

The Queen and Attenborough have known one another since the 1980s, when he worked as a producer on the monarch's Christmas speeches.

The queen, who routinely receives gifts from visitors from every corner of the planet, comments that the garden has benefited from many gifts of roses and other plants. Not surprisingly, Attenborough, failed to control his laughter in response.

The pair stroll through the 40 acre gardens with the Queen telling the story of some of the trees planted by family members or for her children.
