The San Bruno Police Department also confirmed they were responding to an active shooter.

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office tells CBS News it is treating the situation as an "active shooter incident" but declined to provide more details. Authorities say the women believed to be the shooter has died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. "Now barricaded inside a room with coworkers", product management employee Vadim Lavrusik tweeted.

A spokesman for San Francisco General Hospital says it received three patients.

One victim has been shot in the chest although no fatalities have been confirmed, reports ABC7News.

During a press conference, police said they arrived to find a chaotic scene with numerous panicked employees fleeing the area. The 36-year-old male is in critical condition while one woman is in serious condition and the other is in fair condition.

San Bruno Police Chief Ed Barberini told reporters Tuesday that the victims have gunshot wounds and were taken to hospitals.

Local media footage showed those leaving the building being patted down by police officers.


YouTube employees began tweeting there was a shooter on their campus and they were taking shelter around 1 p.m.

The YouTube offices are located on the same suburban campus as Google.

The White House says President Donald Trump has been briefed on a shooting at YouTube headquarters in Northern California and that officials are monitoring it.

San Bruno City Manager Connie Jackson told NBC Bay Area that there is no immediate danger to the public.

A reported shooter at the YouTube headquarters in California is reported to be a female wearing a dark top and a head scarf.
