Ndamukong Suh: 5 Possible landing spots in 2018 for defensive tackle

Dolphins To Release Ndamukong Suh

NFL Rumors: Dolphins To Release Ndamukong Suh As Part Of 'Culture Change'

Suh should have plenty of interest on the open market, especially because it won't take a QB-esque contract to bring aboard the enigmatic interior disruptor who's still unblockable when he wants to be.

If Suh is released as a pre-June 1st player or traded as the same, the Dolphins will eat $22.2 million and save $3.9 million in cap space.

The release of Timmons by the Dolphins is not a bit surprising. And it's safe to say the contract he signed with the Dolphins, who outbid Detroit for his services, qualifies as a disappointment.

The Dolphins plan to release Suh as early as Monday, according to ESPN.

He'll just have to do it for a decent price, not the absurd six-year, $144.375 million deal he signed back in 2015.

Echoing Darlington's culture comments, La Canfora wrote "Suh's leadership and on-field behavior have always been in question", while he "has been seen as aloof by many teammates". He will be 31 years old for the 2018 National Football League season.

Darlington reported that all three moves - including the impending release of Suh - are related to a culture change being pushed by head coach Adam Gase. In 2009, Suh was named AP Player of the Year, Big 12 defensive player of the year, won the Bronco Nagurski award, Chuck Bednarik award, John Outland Trophy, Vince Lombardi award and was named first team All-American. He did, however, miss one game last season as a result of him going AWOL from the team's hotel in Los Angeles the morning of a game and was ultimately tracked down at the airport getting ready to board a flight to Pennsylvania to go see family. He knows the city and some of the personnel after being the No. 2 overall pick to the Lions in 2010 - and Detroit had a dominant defense with Suh on the roster in 2014. It's been more than a year and a half and two knee surgeries since Tannehill played in a real game, and he'll return to a depleted arsenal and offensive line.
