With Case Keenum reportedly set to join the Denver Broncos and Sam Bradford apparently going to the Arizona Cardinals, Bridgewater appears to be the last of the three former Vikings quarterbacks to land elsewhere.

The Jets also appeared poised to make a big splash on defense, with multiple reports saying Tuesday night that NY was close to signing both former Rams cornerback Trumaine Johnson and former Titans linebacker Avery Williamson.

Josh McCown is returning to the Jets on a one-year $10 million deal.

Working with Jeremy Bates, the 38-year-old McCown flourished. McCown is a locker room favorite and quality backup despite his age.

Some confusion at the quarterback position that the Jets will have to navigate, but all in all, not a bad day for Maccagnan and the Jets.

The Jets were believed to be one of the primary potential suitors for free-agent prize Kirk Cousins, but the former Washington quarterback is visiting Minnesota on Wednesday.

As for the current roster, the deal likely spells bad news for either Bryce Petty or Christian Hackenberg.

Bridgewater, 25, said recently he still considers himself a starter, which will make for a spirited competition in training camp.

Bridgewater suffered a horrific knee injury before the start of the 2016, a season that many people expected Bridgewater to take a big step forward.

He was sidelined for 14 months during his recovery and placed on the PUP list, where he spent the first six weeks of the 2017 season.

The Vikings chose to not toll Bridgewater's rookie contract, thus allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent.

Most recently, Bridgewater saw action during garbage time of the Vikings Week 15 game against the Cincinnati Bengals where he attempted two passes, one was incomplete and the other was intercepted. He also has rushed for 1,076 yards and amassed 13 touchdowns on the ground.
