The circumstances behind the weekend arrest were not immediately clear.

BREAKING: Albert Belle arrested in Scottsdale during a spring training game.

Belle was released from jail on Sunday.

Earlier Monday, the Arizona Republic reported that Belle, citing a probable cause statement, had exposed himself to a 15-year-old girl.

Belle, 51, played 12 years of Major League Baseball, earning five All-Star appearances and five Silver Slugger Awards.

A Cleveland Indian from 1989 to 1996, he played for the Chicago White Sox in 1997 and 1998 and finished his career with the Orioles.

Belle has been involved in several notable incidents dating back to his playing career and has a history with alcoholism, which included being treated at the Cleveland Clinic in 1990 while playing for the Indians.

However, just two seasons into his spell in Baltimore, he was forced to retire at the age of 34 due to a degenerative hip condition.

In 1994, Belle was banned from seven games after he was caught using a corked bat.
