Black Ops 3update 1.27 isn't just a rudimentary bug-squashing patch either; it adds both a brand new map and game mode for the game in the shape of Redwood Snow and Infected, respectively. We will probably find out what the new game will be out this May or June.
During Activision Blizzard's Q4 call to investors, Activision's Eric Hirshberg confirmed Treyarch was developing this year's Call of Duty, and wished he could talk more about it.

But here's the thing: the title will apparently be written as "Black Ops IIII", because Activision does not give a single functional crap about how Roman numerals work. This popular game type starts with one person who's infected, and it's that player's job to infect everyone else in the game by killing them. Nothing substantial has been found, though players have found in-game license plates that could suggest the upcoming title would involve David Mason, a central character in the Black Ops series.
