Senate Committee releases additional stack of Peter Strzok's text messages

Rep. Peter King: The FBI Duped FISA Court to Obtain Warrants Against Trump Officials

"Nearly three out of four Republicans believe the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Justice Department are trying to undermine U.S. President Donald Trump, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Monday", Reuters reported.

According to Fox News, the newly revealed Strzok-Page texts also have the FBI officials bashing the "ignorant [hillbillies]" who voted against then-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe's wife in her 2015 bid for a Virginia Senate seat.

According to Johnson's report, Page texted Strzok on September 2, 2016, about preparing talking points for then-FBI Director James Comey because "potus wants to know everything we're doing".

Yet, on April 10, 2016, Obama told Fox News' Chris Wallace that he did not have any involvement in ongoing FBI investigations.

Conservative media sources remain convinced that any investigation into President Donald Trump's actions is part of a nefarious Democratic plot.

Johnson released the text messages in a 25-page report that outlines how, in their view, Obama kept tabs on the investigation into Clinton's email, an issue that hung over much of the 2016 election.

Gates' attorneys Shanlon Wu of Washington and Walter Mack and Annemarie McAvoy of NY moved last week to withdraw as counsel in a shake-up in the pending prosecution by special counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

Strzok supervised the investigation into Clinton's use of a private email server, and was on special counsel Robert Mueller's team investigating any ties between Trump associates and Russian Federation before he was removed in July.

If Obama had been meddling in an ongoing investigation of a political ally, that would have been inappropriate.

First, CNN obtained emails in January that showed Strzok co-wrote the first draft of the letter that Comey sent to Congress in October 2016, announcing that the FBI was reopening an investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails after finding new messages on Anthony Weiner's laptop.

The newly released texts also show praise for Comey when he was questioned for hours about his decision not to seek charges against Clinton for her use of a private email server.

However, according to The Wall Street Journal, the text was referencing Obama requesting information about the ongoing Russian Federation investigation and not the investigation into Clinton's emails. We have a strict line, and always have maintained it, previous president. However, it's not clear that the message referred to the Clinton investigation.

"I'm sure an honest answer will come out of that meeting " Strzok wrote, referring to the Putin-Obama encounter.

Last year, some of their texts provided even more ammo to the FBI, Justice Department, and Mueller's critics. "Figure I need to brush up on Watergate".
