How will Marcus Peters' trade to Rams impact 49ers?

Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters is reportedly heading to the Rams in a trade

The NFL's league year, in which trades can actually become official, does not start until March 14. Since then, Peters has been selected to two Pro Bowls (2015, 2016) and named a first-team All-Pro in 2016.

In 2017, Marcus Peters was suspended by Andy Reid for one game after he tossed a penalty flag into the stands in their Week 13 game against the Jets.

Peters' decision to not standing during the national anthem, however, drew the most controversy. Considering their number one corner Trumaine Johnson and backup corner Nickell Robey-Coleman are expected to walk in free agency, the Rams' secondary is going to have some holes.

Peters will count $1.74 million toward the salary cap this season, the final year of his rookie deal, and the Rams will have until May 3 to decide whether to pick up his fifth-year option.

There's nothing concrete out there telling us exactly what Los Angeles gave up to add Peters to the mix.

The standout cornerback for the Chiefs has been traded to the Los Angeles Rams for compensation to be determined.

The move, like the Washington Redskins' trade of Kendall Fuller, was met with swift criticism from Chiefs fans, and rightfully so.

The remaining question is what did the Chiefs get back from the Rams? But it's unknown whether those will occur in April's draft or in following years. The Rams don't have their second-round pick, which was traded away in the Jared Goff sweepstakes.
