Flight Takes Off In 2018. Lands In 2017

Hawaiian Airlines plane flies back in time to allow passengers celebrate new year twice

Many big inventions take place on daily basis or to be more precise, on an hourly basis, but still one of the biggest obsessions of the human race still remains time travel.

The idea of time travel is not far-fetched after all.

The commercial flight departed Auckland, New Zealand at 12:05 a.m. local time on January 1, 2018 - just five minutes into the new year - after a 10-minute delay.

Flightradar24 has shared an image on Social media on Sunday which showed the plane of Hawaiian Airlines taking-off from Auckland, New Zealand, where the year had already changed to 2018 when the plane landed in Honolulu, Hawaii, where 2017 was still going on.

It's not so complicated and apparently very common. Thanks to the different time zones across the globe! On the globe, Auckland is ahead of Honolulu by 23 hours.

It appears Hawaiian Airlines Flight 446 is quite the expert when it comes to "time travel". Six other flights from Taipei took off in 2018 and landed in 2017 when they arrived in North America.

Passengers aboard Hawaiian Airlines Flight 446 had the privilege of celebrating new year 2018 twice.

Celebrations to ring in the new year have rippled across the globe, from New Zealand, Australia and Singapore to the United States.
