"In an operation in the West Bank city of Jenin on Wednesday night, Israeli army special forces killed a Palestinian terrorist believed to be behind the murder last week of Raziel Shevah, Hy" d.
PPS said in a statement that Israeli forces detained seven Palestinians from the Ramallah and al-Bireh district in the central West Bank.
Jarrar is the fifth Palestinian to be killed by Israel since the start of 2018.
The Palestinian heath ministry initially said that the man killed by Israeli forces was Ahmad Nassar Jarrar, 22, and Hamas then said he was part of its military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades. The Jarrar family described the 30-year-old as a laborer not involved in politics.
Jarrar's house was demolished, as was an adjacent house belonging to another member of his family.
During the raid, Palestinians in Jenin threw explosives and rocks and shot at the Israeli troops, who used riot dispersal measures, including live fire, according to the IDF.
Two border policemen were injured in the gun battle, with one listed in serious/stable condition.
In addition to the threats aimed at Jarrar, Liberman claimed that Hamas is now in a tattered state in Gaza, where it rules, and is therefore trying to arrange terror attacks in the West Bank such as the January 9 drive-by shooting outside Havat Gilad that killed Shevach.
"We will reach anybody who will try to harm Israel's citizens and we will bring them to justice", Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on Thursday during a visit to India.
Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman called the operation "complex and successful" and warned that: "Terrorists will have no place to hide".
"We will soon get to that same terrorist who managed to escape and settle an account with him. The role of the criminals of the security coordination [the Palestinian Authority] will not succeed in preventing the resistance from confronting [US President Donald] Trump's decision and from protecting Jerusalem".
Meanwhile in the northern West Bank, Israeli forces detained Ahmad Qunbu and Salah Jaradat from Jenin, Ahmad Jamal Qawwas, 26, from Qalqiliya and Ahmad Rayeq Zakarneh from Jericho. Police units remained in the area in search of additional suspects.
The West Bank, captured by Israel in 1967 and sought by the Palestinians for a future state, is dotted with dozens of Israeli-government sanctioned settlements as well as unauthorized settler outposts that Israeli authorities have allowed to thrive.
