Nokia 3310 4G featured phone spotted certified on TENAA
The original Nokia 6 had a front-mounted fingerprint scanner integrated into the home button. The original Nokia 6 was definitely not the company's best and most powerful smartphone, but it was a solid mid-range handset.
There is 4G VoLTE support and the other connectivity options include WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5, GPS, and USB Type-C that is another change from the predecessor. With its new design, Nokia 6 (2018) tries to mimmick phones with bezel-less screen, though there's thick bezels on top and bottom of the device. The new Nokia 6 is shorter than the old one while having the same screen (in terms of size and aspect ratio). A MicroSD card slot will allow the storage expansion by another 128GB. The most anticipated smartphone among them is probably the long-rumored Nokia 9. The Nokia 6 was found lacking, even more so because it was priced around Rs 15,000 in India. Nokia 6 (2018) ditches the hardware capacitive button on the front and sticks with a metal unibody build.
HMD is looking to change all that with the Nokia 6 2018. The resolutions of the camera will remain exactly the same as the original Nokia 6: 16 MP for the main camera and 8 MP for the selfie snapper. But what's happened has happened and it's nice to see HMD realizing the Nokia 6's obvious downsides. On the hardware side, it seems that there will be an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630, which is the successor of the Snapdragon 625 and 626 chips and includes an Adreno 508 GPU. The 32GB version's price is $230, while the 64GB variant will sell for $260. There is will be a 3,000mAh battery inside the phone, as suggested by some leaks.
Earlier, some leaks suggested that the Nokia 6 2018 will run Android 8.0 out of the box, while now the latest leak suggests that the phone will run Android 7.1 Nougat.
However, if you are expecting the 2018 refresh of the Nokia 6 to be drastically different from the original Nokia 6, then you're in for major disappointment. Hopefully, by the time the Nokia 6 2018 hits global markets; it would be running Oreo so we can only wait and watch on that one for now. The smartphone is set to go on sale in China on January 10 with pre-orders going live now.
