Kiwi host Brendan Cole axed from United Kingdom dancing show

One of the pro Strictly Dancers has confirmed he has been axed from the show

Brendan Cole has danced his last Strictly

"I still can't believe it - I've watched the show for years, but there'll be a sparkle less for me from now on".

Fans of the show expressed their disappointment on social media, and Hawkins paid tribute to Cole's time on the series. They made an editorial decision not to have me on the show.

"I'm going to miss dancing with her, I've had one of the best Strictly's in 15 years and it's hard for me to even say that and I feel really emotional".

Most little girls love to dance, but little Lucy Stewart is such a big Strictly Come Dancing fan that when she heard Brendan Cole had been axed from the show she decided she had to do something about it!

In the New Zealand version, Cole and fellow judge Craig Revel Horwood often clashed, with their scores frequently markedly different. I still wanted to be part of it.

Admitting he was in "shock" and "disappointed" at the decision by the BBC, the outspoken dancer revealed his fate on rival channel ITV.

A BBC spokesman said: "We'd like to thank Brendan for being part of the show since the beginning - victor of the first series - and for the contribution he has made to its success. I've always known this day would come". I'm a very strong character within the show. My passion is still very much there.

"It's an editorial decision". I'll miss being part of the team.

Last year, Cole and his partner Hawkins became the third couple to leave the series.

Brendan, 41, who was loved by audiences for his strong opinions, emotionally revealed his 13-year stint on the BBC Saturday night hit was over today, and now fellow dancer James, 39, has vented his fury.

The dancer, who is now touring with his musical show, All Night Long, will have the time to be able to pursue other things, as well as spend time more with his partner Zoe Hobbs.

And despite watching this for 15 series, I am not ready to see the back of Brendan. I want to still be there.

'We wish him all the very best for the future'.
