Day 5 of sex abuse victims speaking ahead of Larry Nassar sentencing

Three members of USA Gymnastics’ board of directors have resigned

Three members of USA Gymnastics’ board of directors have resigned

The Olympian gymnast testified in court today against Larry Nassar, the former United States of America gymnastics national team physician who's been accused of sexual abuse by more than 140 women, including some of the star gymnasts from the past few Olympic Games.

The move comes as women abused by former USAG Doctor Larry Nassar confront him in court.

"We support their decisions to resign at this time", said Kerry Perry, who was named president of USA Gymnastics in September. "We believe this step will allow us to more effectively move forward in implementing change within our organization As the board identifies its next chair and fills the vacant board positions, we remain focused on working every day to ensure that our culture, policies and actions reflect our commitment to those we serve".

A Michigan State spokesman says Miller's comments are being looked into, and patients of Nassar's "will not be billed".

"Those discussions accelerated over the holidays and today you have seen three board resignations", Blackmun said.

A 15-year-old girl says Michigan State University is still billing her for medical appointments during which a sports doctor sexually assaulted her. In the case of the Nassar sentencing hearing, Vance said the state's attorney general's office reached out to Small Talk to bring Preston to the courtroom. "You "apologized" to them, you have thrown money at them, but about the only thing you haven't done is listen".

On Friday, Olympic gold medallist Aly Raisman blasted US gymnastics officials for failing to protect her and other women from years of sexual abuse, calling the governing body "rotten from the inside". He has already been sentenced to 60 years in federal prison for child pornography and faces at least 25 additional years for sexual assault charges. "It's very much about healing and providing hope to survivors of sexual assault and physical abuse".

"Larry, you do realize now that we, this group of women you so heartlessly abused over such a long period of time, are now a force, and you are nothing", Raisman said.

More young women and girls who say they were assaulted by a MI sports doctor are due in court for a fifth day to make victim statements before he is sentenced.

On Thursday, USA Gymnastics terminated its agreement with the Karolyi Ranch in Huntsville, Texas, where a number of top gymnasts said they were victims of Nassar's sexual abuse.

Nassar faces a sentence of 40 to 125 years when Judge Rosemarie Aquilina eventually rules on his punishment.

Preston, a therapy dog, provides comfort as victims confront admitted sexual abuser Larry Nassar during his sentencing hearing at Ingham County Circuit Court in Lansing, Mich. on January 19, 2018.

"Larry, how many of us are there?"
