Hard hits are not unusual in the National Football League, but the one Houston Texans quarterback Tom Savage took Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers was particularly scary.

A late touchdown against the Seattle Seahawks in his brief stint in Week 12- followed up with a thoroughly impressive performance facing the Chicago Bears last week that was capped off with a 14-play, 86-yard drive to win the game - has enamored Garoppolo's teammates and made him a quick fan favorite. That scoring pass snapped a 16-16 tie and helped lift the 49ers (3-10) to their second consecutive road triumph.

Savage played just one series where he threw two incomplete passes and was replaced by backup T.J. Yates for the remainder of the game. It was the first time the 49ers have won back-to-back games in the same season since November 2014. Completions of 29 and 31 yards to Kyle Juszczyk set up San Francisco's first touchdown. Goodwin grabbed six passes for 106 yards which marked his second 100-yard game of the season.

Now suffering a seizure on the field should sideline a player indefinitely, right? The Texans erased that 13-9 halftime deficit on their first drive of the third quarter, but the 49ers kept rolling behind Garoppolo and surged ahead for good in the waning moments of the third.

DeAndre Hopkins doesn't care who the Texans' quarterback is.

The Texans ruled Savage out with a concussion, ESPN reported.
