Kid Rock not running for US Senate

Kid Rock tells Howard Stern he's not running for Senate

Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, just did it by fooling some people into believing he was running for U.S. Senate.

The interview appeared to confirm that Kid Rock's three-month-old "Senate bid", which began when his website started selling campaign merchandise in July, was a remarkably successful publicity stunt.

A Michigan Senate poll in August showed Kid Rock leading the field of Republican contenders, but trailing Democratic Sen.

Rock's new album, "Sweet Southern Sugar", will be released November 3, Stern said. "Who [exlpetive] couldn't figure that out?" the rock star said to Stern. But he said the Senate stunt was all part of his promotion for his new album, "Sweet Southern Sugar", which is due out November 3.

Rock said the Senate idea - which he has publicly toyed with for months - was a mixed blessing. I'm going on tour too.

"Fuck no, I'm not running for Senate. Are you f--ing sh-ing me?"

"Kid Rock getting otherwise credible GOPs to support his fake candidacy is one of my favorite pranks/exposure of how far the GOP has fallen", said Tom Bonier. "And I've gotten to see everyone's true colors".

In conversations with those in his circle, Kid Rock would tell them to "roll with it for a while", even he wasn't going to pursue the office.
