Here's everything Donald Trump will miss out on during his United Kingdom visit

Queen Elizabeth II and The Duke And Duchess Of Cambridge Visit The East Midlands

A state visit for the USA president is usually an honour for their second term.

It will likely be one stop on a tour of several countries, the Evening Standard reported on Wednesday, and will focus on global security discussions.

Trump may be allowed cut the ribbon on the brand new U.S. embassy which is close to completion at Nine Elms, near Battersea Power Station.

If Trump's trip is a working visit, he will likely stay at the US ambassador's residence, according to the Standard.

The London Evening Standard is reporting that the upcoming trip has been "stripped down" and will now be a working trip as opposed to a formal state visit.

He needs to be met with mass protests whether or not it's a state visit.

A spokesman at Prime Minister Theresa May's office at Downing Street, which oversees the invitation, tells PEOPLE that the situation remains the same: "Our position on the State Visit has not changed - an offer has been extended and President Trump has accepted".

A full-blown State Visit would then be planned, possibly for later in the year.

The visit will not include a stay with the Queen like Barack Obama enjoyed in 2011.

It was immediately criticised as a breach of convention, as state visits are usually reserved for a president's second term.

The controversy was compounded by deeply unpopular statements Trump made on Twitter, following the terrorist attack at London Bridge, about the city's mayor Sadiq Khan.

May's offer of a State Visit, an honour usually reserved for USA presidents in their second term, sparked mass protests and a petition calling for its cancellation.

The Foreign Office said a State Visit, which is seen by MPs as being on indefinite hold, would go ahead at some stage.
