Google Assistant now has a male voice, new languages, integrations

Google Assistant is now available on Play Store
Google appears to have killed the Android Wear section of the Google Store with the smartwatches supported by the platform also listed as no longer available. Changing the voice of Assistant here will change its voice across all your devices.
Google has been updating the Play Store app quite frequently from the last 2-3 months, but we haven't seen such a jump in versions, so this could indeed mean that there has been a lot of under the hood changes in this one if not any UI changes are there. In the Google Play StoreGoogle Assistant isn't actually the app, but the other form of accessing its features. Now any user with a phone that has the Google Assistant enabled can say things like: "OK Google, playSpotify" or "OK Google, play some dreampop on Spotify".
As such, we could see Android Wear slowly peter out of existence; Google often cans projects and products it hasn't found masses of success with, such as ending its efforts to make a modular smartphone platform with Project Ara. Until now the app used to come pre-installed on Android phones but now you can easily download it and use it.
To begin, the app is able to recognise and communicate information on set topics such as credit cards, loans or internet banking.
Though now it will not work on Chromebooks but maybe Google has launched this app for adding Google assistant support on Chromebooks later. You can still access your Assistant by pressing and holding down your home button or by simply saying, "Ok Google". As usual, you can easily preview all icon packs in the gallery above.
Your device must still meet the requirements in order to use the Google Assistant (Google Search v7.11 or higher and minimum memory requirements). And, it seems Google does not want to remember the category outside the event also, as Android Wear's dedicated section has disappeared from the Google Store home page as well.
