YouTube has announced the global launch of its new feature for in-app messaging service on Android and iOS which has been under the testing phase since May, last year. But anyway, the feature is there for you to use and explore on your YouTube mobile app. Users can start a chat/group amongst their contacts on YouTube and share videos easily. You can also get a direct link to share and add new friends to discuss the video with, if that's your thing.
The company says the update is meant to "make sharing easier, faster and more fun on your phone".
Experts also warned that some young people are forced to appear in the videos, which then puts them at risk of harm. The company was testing this feature since a year ago and was initially made available for users in Canada. People who spend hours on YouTube will find the feature handy enough. The update also allows users to create an infinite playlist of songs with unlimited skips and check out all the videos and personalized recommendations.
Till now YouTube was only an entertainment spreading app now it has become a messenger with the sharing option. Shared videos will play within the messages, but you can also swap text and emoji and "heart" individual messages within a chat. And if you want to continue sharing videos through other apps, you can still do that too.
The videos reportedly featured gang members knife fighting, which Kahn claimed incited violence and spread like wildfire, garnering some 356,000 views on YouTube. A 9 to 5 Google reporter noticed he had the ability to control playback speed within YouTube's Android app, though none of his coworkers perceived any change. This still does not compare with other usual messaging apps.
The idea behind the sharing feature is developed to transition some of the social activity that takes place in the videos.
A blog post from yesterday outlines the expanded icon system: creators could see one of three new symbols next to each video.
YouTube is a most popular platform for watching videos.
