A little boy was found dead in a van outside of a Florida daycare on Monday night a spokesman for the Orlando Police Department said

Orlando police tell local news outlets they were called to Little Miracles Academy on Monday night and found the child in the van.

When officers arrived about 8:30 p.m., they found the 3-year-old on the floor in the back seat of the vehicle, Mina said. Temperatures in Orlando Monday climbed to 94 degrees Fahrenheit. Police said the driver had left the van in the parking lot after dropping off the children and returning to the first location, according to CNN.

"This is an absolute tragedy which could have been prevented", Mina said Tuesday morning.

She also called the day care, where a worker checked the van, found the boy, and called 911, Mina said.

According to a statement from Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Secretary Mike Carroll, the department is "pursuing every legal option available to cease operations.at both of these facilities".

Family members released balloons into the air to memorialize the child as well-wishers placed stuffed animals and candles at a growing memorial outside the day care center.

So to hear that a child was accidentally left in a van; where the temperatures rise to unspeakably hot levels, within a short period of time, hurts beyond compare.

"Anybody that knows me knows that I take care of my kids, if I ever open back up this won't happen again", Thornton said.

So far in 2017, 32 children have died from heatstroke after being left in hot cars, according to a national database.

More than 100 people gathered to remember a 3-year-old Florida boy who was found dead in a van parked outside his day care center.

A child was found dead inside a van near the Little Miracles Academy in Orlando, Fla., according to police. Other violations included not having a caretakers in sight when the children were napping and not keeping attendance records during a fire drill, the records say. The employee did not drop Hill at his home on Monday afternoon, Hill's family called the day care center and they got to know that Hill was not present in the day care all day. "It would've been different if she had come out", Esters said.
