President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, has switched legal teams as the Russian Federation investigation heats up.
Manafort, whose lawyer had been Reginald Brown of the law firm WilmerHale, announced separately Thursday that he was returning to previous representation, the Miller & Chevalier law firm, a spokesman for Manafort said in a statement.
Two years later, Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigators are taking a closer look at the lucrative sale - as well as a host of other deals involving Trump's businesses - as they search for clues into whether Trump's campaign coordinated with Moscow to influence last year's election.
On Thursday, Trump also said he did not win the election because of Russian Federation, but because he was a better candidate than his Democrat rival Hillary Clinton.
And the senators asked for "all communications" from senior Trump campaign advisers, such as Kushner, Manafort, the President's ex-national security adviser Michael Flynn, his attorney Michael Cohen, foreign policy adviser Carter Page and former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.
Trump and his minions have also targeted media outlets that continue to report the Russian Federation story. "Whether it's President Trump or somebody else", Napolitano said.
Asked whether he had spoken to Attorney General Jeff Sessions or the Federal Bureau of Investigation about the raid, Trump said: "I have not, but to do that early in the morning, whether or not it was appropriate, you'd have to ask them".
The FBI and the special counsel's office declined to comment.
FBI agents showed up at the residence without prior notice before dawn on July 26 searching for assorted documents that might have a bearing on the Russian Federation investigation, the daily said, adding that they did take away certain written materials they found there.
Mr Trump also said he had no thoughts about firing Mr Mueller, whose investigation he has frequently denounced as a "witch hunt" or "hoax".
Mr Manafort's past foreign political work has been swept into the investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 USA election.
"Paul is girding himself for a long legal battle", the spokesman, Jason Maloni, told Business Insider.
Manafort recently filed a foreign agent disclosure report for that consulting work, which ended in 2014. Manafort, a longtime Republican operative, had advised the party and its former leader Viktor Yanukovych for almost a decade.
