Taylor Swift in court as trial begins in groping case

Mueller has denied the accusations and sued Swift in September 2015 - two years after the alleged incident - claiming her accusations that he inappropriately touched her were false, and cost him his $150,000-a-year job as a host at country station KYGO-FM as well as future career opportunities.

She is counter-suing, alleging she was sexually assaulted.

Swift is expected to testify, along with members of her entourage. She said she told Mueller and his girlfriend, Shannon Melcher, who was also in the photo, "thank you for coming" in a monotone voice before they left. She said she also couldn't have reported the alleged incident to anyone on her team without the fans that were already there overhearing. I know exactly who did this.

Swift countersued Mueller, claiming sexual assault.

Mueller testified his hand was touching Swift's skirt after he put his arm around her and their arms got crossed: "My hand was at rib-cage level and apparently it went down". This elicited laughs from the room.

"What Mr. Mueller did, like I said, was very intentional and the location was very intentional, and it happened very quickly. Swift", Mueller told the court. "It was horrifying and shocking". Swift's mother Andrea Swift testified in court that a DJ groped her daughter in 2013. "I have a 3-D rendition of what happened in my brain", she said. In response, Taylor said, "And your client could have taken a normal photo with me", later emphasizing: "I am not going to allow your client to make me feel like it is any way my fault, because it isn't".

She said she would not have needed the photo to remember Mueller.

"I am being blamed for the unfortunate events of his life that are a product of his decisions and not mine", Swift added later. Her mother told the court that since the incident at the Pepsi Center, the star has changed how she interacts with fans.

Swift testified that her security guard, Greg Dent, saw Mueller "lift my skirt" and grab her but that it was it was impossible for anyone to see his hand beneath her skirt because they were posing for a photo with their backs to a wall. "I have experienced every degree of an awkward first encounter. you think it's a high-five and they think it's a handshake, and they say, "Oh, sorry" and you say, 'Oh, it's fine'".

Questioned by the attorney as to whether it might simply have been a case of mistaken identity on her part, she fired back: "He had a handful of my ass". The line drew laughs from the audience in the courtroom.

McFarland repeatedly questioned Swift for her reactions to his client's circumstances, asking if she cared about Mueller's misfortunes. "Swift, Mueller intentionally reached under her skirt, and groped with his hand an intimate part of her body in an inappropriate manner, against her will, and without her permission", Taylor's countersuit filed in October 2015 reads.

Swift is seeking a symbolic $1, saying she wants to serve as an example to other women who have been assaulted.
