GETTYChelsea want to get rid of Diego Costa

Diego Costa

Diego Costa has rejected the chance to join AC Milan according to reports today, a move that could cost Chelsea nearly £4m.

Chelsea may have indicated that Diego Costa is no longer in the plans, but the club are ready to assist the player with a personal fitness plan so as to build his fitness.

In fact, many Chelsea fans would argue that Costa is a better option than Alvaro Morata.

"We are going to activate all possible legal mechanisms to hold Chelsea responsible for their behaviour, paving the way for Diego Costa's departure", Ricardo Cardoso told Spanish newswire EFE as quoted byAS.

"When he was with the Spanish national team in June, he was dismissed from Chelsea by Antonio Conte through an SMS message..." "He will formally request the transfer".

"This discriminatory behaviour makes it impossible for Diego Costa to return to Chelsea while Antonio Conte is the coach, there is no condition for him to continue playing at Chelsea. At the moment, he does not want to play for a club other than Atletico Madrid". It was really unfair to Diego, an unacceptable act of disrespect.

The Spain striker's attempts to leave Chelsea and seal a move to China's Super League last January is believed to be at the root of Conte's eagerness to replace Costa in his line-up, with the Italian refusing to be drawn on the subject until the forward leaves the club. He would be able to sign for them now, be loaned out for six months, before finally being able to play for the La Liga side once their transfer ban is over.
