Tamina wants to know why Lana hasn't made her ravishing yet. Lana tells her that she isn't ready, because they don't fear her, yet.
But for now, her presence and that infamous briefcase will be used as dramatic devices. Bryan says they'll be facing Big E and Xavier.
Rusev dominated Gable, who looked great taking the moves and bumping around for him. Rusev rolls out of the ring and Gable follows. He then tosses Gable over the announce table and the ref calls for the bell. AJ and Shane have words. No, this time it feels like Cena is going to be the one with the huge victory that sets him up for the next major story - in this case, perhaps a chance at the all-time WWE Championship record of 17, as he's now tied with Ric Flair with 16 after his Royal Rumble victory over Styles. What will happen with these two on the last SmackDown Live before SummerSlam? The ensuing argument lets Owens superkick Shane by mistake.
Corbin heads back up the ramp, but with Mahal still down in the he heads back. With all of the news going on in the United States over the weekend regarding hate groups, it was a little uncomfortable watching "Indian" wrestlers (Jinder is actually Canadian) being boo'ed exclusively because they are portrayed as evil foreigners. Kofi takes a shot to the ring post, and the Usos turn the momentum in their favor. A double superkick to the legs set up a double superkick to the jaw but Jimmy makes the save.
The Usos must prepare some sick bars as they have to build up their rematch as the New Day sure have their own way to give hype through the power of positivity. We've seen it before, where everyone expects someone to cash in, so on the title change itself, there isn't as much emotion from the crowd because they're instead watching the aisle to see who runs down. Breeze walks in once again wearing a wig and women's clothing. The segment ends with "Breezango will return in two weeks" appearing on the screen.
In an epic main event, Jinder Mahal faced John Cena in a non-title match. They fight over a test of strength to start until Cena shoves him away.
Back with Cena initiating his finishing sequence. Jinder got some help from The Singh Brothers too, who were in the ringside. That means the STF but Mahal is over to the ropes. Mahal hits a running knee, but can't get a three count on Cena. Cena counters into an AA, but Mahal kicks out.
Corbin will face Cena in a singles match at SummerSlam. Corbin hits Cena with the briefcase and Cena falls out to ringside. Then Tuesday night, the Corbin swerve was added to the mix. It might be a somber moment for Baron Corbin, but MITB is one of many ways to reach the top of the WWE ladder.
Unfortunately for Corbin, a slight distraction from Cena was enough for Mahal to catch Baron by surprise and retain the WWE Title. Corbin was disqualified for using a low blow against Nakamura at Battleground, and he attacked the No.1 contender for the WWE Championship after his recent victory over Cena. Mahal and the Singhs laugh at Corbin from the stage as he trashes the ringside arena.
The Perseid Meteor Shower Peaks This Weekend
If you get some clear skies, though, look up! It happens every year between the middle of June and the start of September. The meteor shower gets the name Perseids because it appears to radiate outward from the constellation Perseus.
Scattered storms possible in area
Temps will linger in the 70s this evening with high humidity and a breeze out of the south-a fairly typical August night. So a mix of sun & clouds to start the day with temperatures in the 60s, followed by afternoon rain and highs in the 80s.
TODAY'S FORECAST: Mostly cloudy, chance of rain
The National Weather Service in Pueblo predicted highs of 84 degrees Saturday , 74 degrees Sunday and 67 degrees Monday . Winds will be out of the south at 5-10 miles per hour and there will be a 10 percent chance of showers through the day.
