Windies had a game that they'd like to forget soon as they crashed to an embarassing 10-wicket loss against South Africa after being bundled out for just 48.

It was a ideal call made by South Africa women captain Dane van Niekerk to bowl first after winning the toss, who went on to produce a freakish spell of 3.2-3-0-4.

It was Kapp's new-ball partner, Shabnim Ismail, who hit the first nails in the coffin, with the wickets of openers Hayley Matthews and more importantly that of the Windies skipper, Stafanie Taylor for just 4. The tail was wiped out by skipper, Dane van Niekerk, whose leg-spin proved hard to get away.

Lizelle Lee clattered six fours in making an unbeaten 29, while Laura Wolvaardt brought up the winning boundary and remained unbeaten on 19 as South Africa won with a mammoth 262 deliveries to spare, the largest margin in terms of balls remaining in the tournament's history.

South Africa women's captain Dane Niekerk was delighted with her team's performance after they thrashed the West Indies by 10 wickets in their World Cup clash in Leicester on Sunday.

Although Kapp was unable to get a third scalp for the hat-trick, she clean-bowled Deandra Ditton for a duck in the same over.

The South Africa captain thus became the only bowler in cricket history to take four wickets in an worldwide match without conceding a run.

However, van Niekerk came into the attack looking for a breakthrough and ended up with four wickets without giving away a run.

"Today has been our biggest test against a fantastic team in New Zealand, they always give us a tough game", said Perry. They were bowled out for 41 against England Women in 2008.

The team surprised a lot of people by holding a training session directly after the match.

"We looked in pretty good nick so we could definitely look at the footage and see ... the good things that we did so we can come out tomorrow and replicate that and put on a good performance", she stressed.

"We don't want to think too much about the end result, that will take care of itself".
