Andromeda Will Not Receive Single-Player DLC

03 July 2017, 01:34 | Virginia Benson

Mass Effect Andromeda Story DLC Cancelled, Franchise Shelved For The Time Being, Focus On Anthem (Updated)

Mass Effect: Andromeda's Story DLC Cancellation Has Been Denied by BioWare

There isn't any sort of official confirmation that the single-player content previously planned has been canceled just yet, but as Kotaku notes it is unusual that the company has not responded to requests for comment, nor have reps gotten back to Twinfinite for clarification either.

The last pool of new content coming to the game appears to be the APEX missions launched weekly, although the most recent "Roekaar Occupation" series appears to have ended.

Players were expecting a story DLC for Mass Effect: Andromeda, especially after Mass Effect 2's Lair of the Shadow Broker and Mass Effect 3's Citadel received rave reviews for the stories and character development that they added to their respective base games. "For the moment the Mass Effect series will be on ice until BioWare can decide which direction the franchise will go".

According to the research, although the publication of Facebook was a hoax, it brought to light the delicate situation that the title lives on because according to sources, BioWare closed all type of project that involved the expansion of Mass Effect: Andromeda, even a possible sequel. This is disappointing but not exactly surprising, considering the downsizing of BioWare Montreal. But I wanted to be more confident, so over the past few weeks I've confirmed the news with three sources familiar with the company's plans, all of whom spoke anonymously so as not to jeopardise their careers. "While we can't talk about future yet, I can def say we build our own DLC/patches for our games and don't hire fake companies to do so", producer Fernando Melo said on Twitter.

This will come as sad news to anyone that is looking forward to Mass Effect content in the near future.
