President Trump Confirms He Is Under Investigation for Obstruction of Justice

President Trump now under investigation for possible obstruction of justice, WAPO reports
It was unclear whether his tweet about being under investigation was based on direct knowledge or new media reports that suggest Mueller is examining whether the president obstructed justice by firing Comey.
File-This June 8, 2017, file photo shows former FBI Director James Comey speaking during a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing on Capitol Hill in Washington.
"Americans should be skeptical about anonymous allegations", Rosenstein said.
If Rosenstein recuses himself from oversight of the special counsel investigation, that role would fall to the Justice Department's No. 3 official, newly confirmed Associate Attorney General Rachel Brand.
"I'm growing increasingly concerned that the President will attempt to fire not only Robert Mueller, the special counsel investigating possible obstruction of justice, but also Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein who appointed Mueller", warned Sen.
In another sign the investigation is expanding, lawyers for the Trump transition team issued a memo Thursday instructing those who worked for the transition to preserve documents in anticipation that investigators will request those materials for the probe into Russian interference into last year's presidential election. Still, the snowballing investigation has deeply angered Trump, who denies he has any nefarious ties to Russian Federation.
Rosenstein was the one to make the decision because Attorney General Jeff Sessions had already recused himself from the Russian Federation investigation. Rosenstein in a memo to Trump raised concerns over FBI Director James Comey.
At the same time, White House officials have insisted that Trump is eager for the investigations to proceed, if only to officially clear him and his campaign of any wrongdoing.
President Trump now finds himself exactly where he doesn't want to be: under investigation by a dogged, highly respected prosecutor who owes him no personal or political loyalty.
Cullen, who supported Trump's rival Jeb Bush during the race for the Republican presidential nomination, also represented Tom DeLay, a Texas Republican and former majority leader of the US House of Representatives, during the investigation into corrupt Washington lobbyist Jack Abramoff.
The President's words of apparent confirmation come after a week of reports from Washington that his firing of Mr Comey, who was heading up a probe into his former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and his possible ties to the Kremlin, had led the investigation to broaden its scope.
Flynn, dismissed by Trump in February after it emerged he had misled Pence about conversations with the Russian ambassador, is a subject in investigations by intelligence committees in the House of Representatives and Senate, as well as the FBI. An official of Trump's transition confirmed the laywer's internal order sent Thursday.
The White House has directed questions for details to outside legal counsel, which has not responded.
On Thursday, Trump blasted news reports that he is under criminal investigation as a "witch-hunt" against him led by some "very bad" people. Pence headed the Trump transition until inauguration day.
If indeed Trump attempted to pull off a Saturday Night Massacre to remove Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his investigative staff, possibly in the coming days, here is how it would work.
E3 2017: Sea Of Thieves Delayed Until 2018
Development, by today's standards, has been slow, as this is now the third E3 that Sea of Thieves has attended. The game has a look in the style of the cartoon-y Team Fortress 2 , but this game is very elaborate.
Trump Weighs Firing Mueller, According To Confidante
In addition, Comey has said Sessions did not respond when he complained that he did not want to be left alone with Trump again. Ruddy was at the White House on Monday but did not meet with the president, White House press secretary Sean Spicer said.
