Arsenal sink United to revive top four bid Liverpool held by Southampton

After yesterday's 2-0 loss to Arsenal flattened any lingering hopes of a top-four finish in the Premier League, Manchester United are focused fully on this week's Europa League semi-final second leg against Celta Vigo, midfielder Juan Mata has said.

The England Under-20 worldwide started at right-back as Mourinho rested a number of key players for Thursday's Europa League semi-finals second leg against Celta Vigo.

United, who hold a 1-0 lead from the first leg, will qualify for the Champions League if they win the Europa League, so Mourinho wasn't too concerned with the result against Arsenal.

But winning the Europa League now represents United's most likely course to Champions League football next season, but Neville feels this is an opportunity missed.

'I felt today defensively they [Manchester United] played two of probably the most creative players in the team as full backs - Mata and Mkhitaryan, ' Redknapp told Sky Sports.

UNITED finally saw their 25-game unbeaten streak ended as they lost 2-0 to Arsenal on Sunday. The Gunners will continue their pursuit of a top four finish, after Sunday's victory breathed some new life into their hard Premier League season.

"For two reasons: I don't think the other ones playing one match a week and being in a great situation, I don't think they are going to blow it".

Tuanzebe believes Mourinho's trust in youngsters bodes well for players such as Demetri Mitchell and United States youth global Matthew Olosunde, who also made the trip to North London but were not included in the squad.

"It can help all the young players coming through the system to believe they can do it. Marcus [Rashford] was an example and now I'm an example, Tim [Fosu-Mensah] and Scott are examples".

"You don't have a time where you're ready to play - you just have to be thrown into the deep end and if you can cope, you know you have confidence and you can fall back on it and think "yeah, I've played like that before and I can do it again", the youngster added.

Now Mourinho insists the path to the top-four is closed. I'm really satisfied with my performance and the performance of the team, which is most important.

"We always have hope - hope dies last", he said.

A disappointing afternoon for us at the Emirates as goals from Xhaka and Welbeck settle the game. We could not afford to lose today. "We're having a season where things have been a bit more hard but I'm convinced that in the coming years we can show another side".

Arsenal are now sixth in the Premier League table and six points behind fourth-placed Manchester City.
