Jackie Robinson statue unveiled at Dodger Stadium
16 April 2017, 02:26 | Audrey Hill
This is an April 18, 1948, portrait of Brooklyn Dodgers baseball player Jackie Robinson.
"Each of the statutes, and given their location, reflects the totality of the man". I've had the good fortune of playing with players from more than 10 countries throughout my career.
There was, of course, much more, and yet it pales in comparison to Robinson's impact on baseball to this day.
This will be the first statue at Dodger Stadium, which opened in 1962 and has been home to four World Series champions.
The Dodgers will erect a bronze statue of baseball legend Jackie Robinson on Jackie Robinson Day 2017.
Saturday, April 15, 2017, marks the 70th anniversary of Jackie Robinson's history-making and history-shaking major-league debut with the Brooklyn Dodgers. The Rookie of the Year award was named in his honor (more on this in a bit).

As has been the case since 2009, every player, manager, coach and umpire in MLB will wear the retired No. 42 to celebrate Robinson, the 1949 National League Most Valuable Player.
The "Nightline" interview was part of a show that was meant to recognize the 40th anniversary of Robinson's groundbreaking first major league game and examine his legacy. Robinson and Greenberg both document the long-lasting relationship between African-American and Jewish sports fans standing together for decades in support of tolerance and humanity for all. That is the lowest level since 1958.
The drop in diversity in major league baseball is due to a variety of reasons, but there is no denying that socioeconomic barriers remain a significant factor. "Here it is, 70 years later and he's still being recognized".
Robinson's statue at the ballpark is the eighth of him, the most of any American athlete, according to two British researchers.
I go back now to photos of Robinson, on that day in Cincinnati in the autumn of 1972. That's where the Georgia-born Jackie grew up and first became a four-sport standout in football, basketball, track and baseball at John Muir High.
The statue is located in the left field reserve plaza with a view of downtown Los Angeles and Elysian Park.
The end product is the result of the artist and the Robinsons working with the very unity Jackie embodied.
Tim Tebow Hits His 2nd HR For The Columbia Fireflies
With two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning, Tebow pulled a three-run home run to right field to give Columbia a 6-0 lead. The question now isn't whether Tebow can hit the ball, it's whether Tebow can consistently hit the ball.
